Tony Bohr

Tony is a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association, licensed by the state of Iowa board of massage, and graduate from Carlson College of Massage Therapy. Then, he studied Orthopedic Massage by studying time-tested and trusted methods taught by world-renowned James Waslaski. As a practicing LMT (Licensed massage therapist) Tony utilizes his expertise in reflexology to treat a multitude of medical conditions. The very scope of Tony’s talent is recognized if you’re a client in need of something outside the realm of medical treatment or traditional massage therapy. Tony is very skilled in the art of Reiki; A Japanese form of “hands-on-healing”. With this unique approach, Tony taps into his understanding and appreciation of the energies that our bodies, and the universe as a whole possess. This gives him the ability to achieve what traditional massage therapy alone cannot. Your massage will include a combination of Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Reiki, and Swedish style therapy. Also, Tony’s extensive studies in the art of Je-Ying-Keun, Kung Fu, and Shorin Ju-Jitsu further aid his ability to “dial in” the needed pressure for each unique client. With each massage Tony will tailor to your individual wishes and needs.

Tony is very passionate about helping others to overcome their pain and discomfort through Massage Therapy. This passion for helping others stemmed from personal experience with the very thing he aims to combat. Tony worked for years forging and shaping metal, which is widely known as a very physically demanding job. Experiencing chronic pain from his forging work, Tony set out to learn more about treatment opportunities. While taking this journey to learn more about his condition and pain, Tony realized he wanted to help others overcome their pain and discomfort through massage therapy. Solidifying this commitment to helping others by becoming a licensed massage therapist, Tony is proud to be the one you’ve chosen today. So lets get started...

The chiropractic profession was founded in 1895 by a man named D. D. Palmer who began to develop a concept that the body has an internal power to heal itself.

By choice chiropractors choose not to use drugs or surgery, and utilize natural approaches to allow the body to heal.  Chiropractors treat primarily the spine and its attachments to restore function and health. They are facilitators of health and utilize a variety of approaches, including adjustments, physical therapeutic modalities, exercise routines, nutritional recommendations, orthotics and daily living modifications.

There are roughly 70,000 doctors of chiropractic who are concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of many disorders of the body. A variety of conditions are treated, ranging from back and neck pain to shoulder, hand or feet disorders. Doctors of chiropractic are fully accredited and licensed in every state and have become well accepted as a primary part of healthcare.

Pricing

Any new experience, especially when it comes to your health, can be unnerving.  We understand this and we will make every effort to make your first experience very comfortable.  Our friendly staff and the doctor will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have.

We recommend for your first appointment that you down load the New Patient form and bring it in on your first visit, otherwise please come in 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.  A complete health history is the first step for any new chiropractic patient.  We will ask about old injuries, chronic problems, and your current symptoms.  During this first appointment, please tell Dr. Nelson about your sensitive or painful areas and when the pain started.

During this first session, Dr. Nelson may inquire about your family history, dietary habits, job or work habits, and previous treatments for the current condition (chiropractic, osteopathic, medical, etc.). After reviewing the health history, Dr. Nelson will discuss her findings with you and determine how your condition could best be treated.  If the doctor feels chiropractic will help you, then (and only then) will she recommend a treatment plan, or if conditions allow, discuss a choice of treatment options.  Treatments will be tailored to your specific needs — addressing your specific health problems and personal concerns. Aside from adjustments, other therapeutic methods, massage techniques, or home care remedies may be recommended.
